OFF THE GRID | MENSWEAR SS19

A recent 3000 mile road-trip through rural wastelands with no phones and never-ending tarmac inspire this SS19 concept.

"As we become more attached to technology we begin to lose touch of what is real. It’s time to get back out

into nature, into the “real world” and back in touch with our senses"

Dusty multi-layered landscapes, withered greens and the vivacious sunlight reflecting off natural stone, inspire the bruised earthy tones within this colour palette. Salmon pinks and scorched oranges extracted from the catwalk are used to accent the grounded tones and can also be seen within the artwork of collected souvenirs.

Work from Ed Ruscha: Course of Empire exhibition at The National Gallery contributes towards print direction.

Ruscha's modern, graphic based landscapes inspire a flat contrasting use of colour within this capsule collection. Bold and sometimes humorous, Ruscha's work includes an essence of personalisation and "human touch" which has been portrayed in this collection through the use of inky handwriting and the mix of photographic and text.
